  • This webinar is being scheduled to mark 100 days to the 2024 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in October 2024 on the theme of ‘One Resilient Common Future: Transforming our Common Wealth’.

About the webinar

  • Samoa, the first Small Island Developing State from the Blue Pacific to host CHOGM, will seek to unite Commonwealth nations in their pursuit of resilience, sustainability, and a shared future. The theme will look at the core pillars of the Commonwealth through a resilience lens.
  • One aim is strengthening resilient democratic institutions who are upholding human rights. The webinar seeks to equip Parliamentarians with the requisite tools to assert themselves as key stakeholders in championing human rights through engagement with international human rights groups and initiatives. It will also focus on facilitating the domestic implementation of international human rights obligations and commitments with due consideration to international standards and principles.
